You’ll usually go 3-0 about one out of every eleven times. So already you are at a disadvantage. The second reason sports books love parlays is because you can still have a winning record and lose. If you do a three team parlay and go 2-1, you would have a profitable day if you bet the games straight up. However, since you parlayed them, you’re actually having a losing day because you’re 0-1 on your parlay and down $20. Teasers and parlays are a joke, and anyone who is looking to make money betting on sports should stay away from them.
Secret #2 – If you’re on the majority’s side, start running
This is a huge sports betting secret that many people fail to learn. If 80% of the betting public is on one team, do not bet on that team. Stay as far away from them as you can. This always happens when games look too easy, and there is a for sure “lock”. Many people who don’t even bet on sports will make a wager on the game because they think it’s easy money. This is why sportsbooks make millions of dollars a year, and 97% of sports bettors lose money. Do not join the crowd and let them lead you right off the edge of the cliff. I always bet on the other team, or stay away from the game completely.
Secret #3 – If you know a lot about sports, you won’t automatically be successful
I think this secret brings in more newbies to sports betting than anything else. Every sports fan thinks they know a lot about sports, so they assume they will be good at betting on sports. The real truth is, most people know next to nothing about sports. Sure you might be able to tell me who’s good and who sucks, but you probably can’t tell me how good an NBA team is on the road after they play back to back nights. This is why many sports bettors lose. They look at things on the surface and listen to ESPN analysts and then make their picks. If you have good sports knowledge, it will definitely help you overtime, but don’t rely on that as your only source of information.
